Nepenthes x ‘St Gaya’

Nepenthes x ‘St Gaya’ is a perfect starter Nepenthes. Nepenthes x ‘St Gaya’ is a vigorous grower, stays compact, tolerant of a wide wide variety of growing conditions and its attractive!

Plants are potted in a 4″ inch pot, filled with long fiber sphagnum moss plus perlite.

This hybrid is special because it produces pitchers comparable in size to the spectacular pitcher of N. sibuyanensis but without that species’ annoying habit of only producing one or 2 pitchers at any one time. Each leaf will produce a long-lasting waxy pitcher and it’s as vigorous as N. ventricosa. A great beginners plant and hanging basket candidate.

Medium plants are potted in a 4″ inch pot, filled with long fiber sphagnum moss plus perlite.

Nepenthes veitchii x ventricosa BE 4500 the female parent is a selected seed-grown plant of the Bario form of N. veitchii, with a candy-striped peristome, and male parent is an orange form of N. ventricosa which is also a unique seed-raised individual.

This is an easy growing Nepenthes which produces many pitchers and holds them well.

A random selection from a large number of different clones out of microprop. Plants are potted in 3.5 ” pots filled with long fiber sphagnum moss and perlite.

Nepenthes veitchii ‘intermediate’ is classic species has a spectacular wide peristome. There are both lowland and highland varieties, which are often markedly different in appearance. In general, the highland varieties have wider more colorful pitcher peristomes but all are hairy and charismatic.

Random selection from a large number of different clones out of microprop. Plants are potted 4 inch pots,  filled with long fiber sphagnum moss and perlite.

Ascocenda Bangkok Sunset – houlettiana

Ascocenda Bangkok Sunset – houlettiana has arrived for the second time at Bergen Water Gardens during November 2023. We first introduced  this wonderful vandaceous hybrid in March 2023 at the Niagara Frontier Orchid Show.  Ascda. Bangkok Sunset – houlettiana captivated the attendees and we quickly sold out. It’s beautiful sunset colors and delicate scent are a fantastic combination.

Plants are in 3.5″ baskets and are not in bud or spike at this time.

Rhynchostylis gigantea Blue is a new color form for us in late 2023. Pictures seem to indicate more of a pink hue but we will update as soon as they bloom.

February 2024 our first flowers have appeared at our nursery. This is our description: a full petal warm, vibrant red with a softer purple pink in the center.

Rhynchostylis gigantea usually flowers in December through February which a beautiful spray of flowers. The scent is strong and rather spicy. We water ours daily but allow the roots and media to dry out. The roots tend to be brittle so soaking in water may help before repotting. The plants are currently anchored in small plastic baskets.

Plants are not currently in spike or bloom.

Rhynchostylis gigantea Orange is a new color form for us in late 2023. The plants are large and beautiful. Once they flower, we will update our pictures and provide a video.

We are excited to offer the yellow form of Wuttipanara Manoonya. Over the past several years Wuttipanara Manoonya has become one our favorite orchids in our greenhouse. The long sprays of fragrant flowers always attracts our visitors.

N. ‘Red Kapok’ Lotus is a stunning new bowl lotus from China. Red Kapok lotus features a brilliant, double red flower. The center of the flower is highlighted by bubble carpels. Red Kapok is a a tree found in Southern China, with deep red flowers. The flower is the official city flower of Guangzhou. Mr. Li Zijun is one of China’s youngest and most promising lotus and waterlily hybridizers. Look for many new exciting aquatic plants from this remarkable young man! Lai Bing #1 Lotus is our personal favorite micro lotus for 2024. It is a single red petal lotus which the leaves have good substance. Lai Bing #1 Lotus is a healthy bloomer which bloomed until September.
