Dendrobium thyrsiflorum originates from the mountains of Northern Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. It is often referred as the pine cone orchid due to its tapering cluster of flowers.<\/p>\n

Dendrobium thyrsiflorum may be grown in pots or mounted on driftwood or grown in baskets. During the winter its needs to be watered much less , every other week, and it likes its cool at night ( as low as 45 to 50 F). Blooming occurs in the spring. While the flowers last only a couple of weeks a mature plant will flower multiple times. Flowers are a pure white with a yellow center. Once new growths emerge, water every few days and fertilize weekly.<\/p>\n
