- The ancestors of modern Wakin were the first type of goldfish imported from China.
- The name Wakin was applied centuries later, in the mid-1800s.
- Wakins have a torpedo-shaped body with a quadruple, triple, cherry blossom or single carp tail.
- Wakins are strong and tough and are suitable for both pond and aquarium keeping.
- These fish may grow up to 12 inches in length
- Wakins are very vivid red or red & white
