Bergen Water Gardens is offering something new for 2026 – tropical lotus tubers!

Tropical lotus offer:

  • Taller lotus plants
  • Overall larger flowers
  • A longer blooming season – through September for us in New York if the weather is warm

Challenges of tropical lotus:

  • Usually only runners are available and not tubers
  • Maybe more temperamental to start
  • Must winter over in a warm greenhouse, 50 to 55F – still will go dormant
  • cost per tuber is higher
