Night-Blooming waterlilies usually open around dusk and will close about 10:00 am to 11:00 am the following morning. Cooler autumn days will likely cause them to stay open longer as will an overcast day. Night-bloomers are best placed outside when the water temperatures are 75 degrees F or higher. In 2012 we kept one plant of the tropical waterlily N. 'Rachel Presnell' for display in our front pond. This amazing plant attracted much attention from our customers throughout the 2012 season. Nymphaea 'Rachel Presnell' was hybridized by Craig Presnell in 2005. This annual day-blooming waterlily features reddish pads, with brown streaks. The pads this season exceeded 12 inches in diameter.
