As the demand for orchids increases, we decided to remodel a portion of our fish greenhouse (greenhouse #3) to hold and grow more orchids. The number of our retail koi ponds has actually increased but we have dismantled our largest pond. Our fish selection will continue excel with a wide selection of standard and butterfly domestic koi, Japanese koi, along with goldfish and other pond fish.
The greenhouse remodel provides us with an additional 1,000 square feet of orchid growing area. In this house you will find additional plants of blooming and “in spike” orchids for our first orchid showroom and upcoming shows. Lili has a large section of exclusive imported Chinese Cymbidiums housed here. There is a section which houses Paphiopedilums and Bulbophyllums. Our Brassia or spider orchid will be growing here. There will be a section which focuses on the miniature Vanda falcata and it hybrids. We also plan on offering smaller, starter orchids, with a lower price point. This is our current plan but until we see how the plants actually grow and perform, with inevitable tweaks in the future.
We welcome you to visit our new orchid showroom but call first to see if we are open – 585-293-2860. ( January thru mid April). Unfortunately winter’s wrath of snow and ice often prevents us from opening. Our winter hours are Saturday and Sunday 11 till 4, Monday thru Friday by appointment only.
