These are volatile times. In January 2018 our lotus tubers from China were subject to a new 15% tariff. We absorbed this additional cost. In February 2025 an additional 10% was added. Last week, 10% more was added, bringing the total to a 35% tariff applied to our lotus tubers. Now we have no choice but to pass along some of these additional costs to keep our business viable and healthy.
We love lotus. Lili and I have dedicated the last 12 years to introduce the finest varieties of Chinese lotus to the USA and the world. You, our customers, are the best. You have supported and encouraged our efforts by adding lotus to your pond, water garden or patio. Thank you!
We realize many of our customers would like to order lotus for the 2025 season. Therefore our prices will remain unchanged through March 18th. On March 19th we will start to modify our prices to incorporate some of our increased costs.
