Nymphaea thermarum is a very rare waterlily found only in one location of Africa. Thanks to to the determination of one superb plantsman from Kew, Carlos Magdalena. its secrets have been unlocked. The plant is now being used to create new dwarf hybrids that will someday be available to grow in your container gardens or very small pots. The complete story is here:

Thanks for this Larry! I hadn’t seen this clip before (and it is somewhat timely considering the recent theft of one of these lilies from the display at Kew). Very pleased to hear that Carlos has a good number of plants in reserve.
