LotusFest 2021 was an amazing success! Here is a video a visitor put together for us:

Beauty, peace and tranquility of lotus will be yours to experience this weekend as our lotus collection approaches its peak season. Bergen Water Gardens grows one of the largest collections of lotus outside of China. We are especially proud of our micro lotus collection, which has close to 50 varieties! Lotus are grown in pots, 5 x 5 ft in-ground ponds and it our new 20′ x 100′ natural growing areas!

LotusFest features our amazing lotus collection and welcomes the 2021 blooming season. The lotus will be in full bloom throughout the month of August.

This year on Sunday August 1 we are thrilled to host 2 guest speakers James Wisniewski -Nepenthes and  Austin Miller – Orchids, plus Larry Nau Bog Gardens. Both of our guests will be available until 3 PM to meet and ask questions. James Wisniewski, is a horticulturist in Buffalo, NY. James mainly grows and breeds intermediate & highland nepenthes. Many plants in his collection can be found on Instagram @propgate_the_city . Austin Miller is from Rochester, New York and is an avid orchid grower and specialist. Austin has worked at Marlow’s Orchids for the past 2 years. Austin has traveled to numerous societies across the northeast as a vendor where he educated the public on different genera and displayed award winning exhibits. He owns over 120 orchids and grow them under LED lights. Austin is the youngest active member of the Genesee Region Orchid Society. Larry Nau has been digging holes around Bergen Water Gardens for the past 21 years.

Please note that its best to arrive in the morning to see the maximum number of lotus in bloom. Therefore Bergen Water Gardens will open at 8:00 am on these 2 days. Single petal lotus tend to close by 1 to 2 pm.

We plan on offering some fresh lotus chips as well as other lotus treats to sample.
