Nelumbo ‘Raining Love’ is a versicolor lotus with flowers held high above the leaves. The flower is large for this small growing lotus, usually measuring 7 1/2 inches. Raining Love lotus may be grown in a small container on a deck or patio or in a water garden.

Comments: Vigorous bloomer with dish-like flower. Tip of the petals are red-purple. Middle is light red-purple, yellow at the base. Raining Love lotus produces viable seed so it maybe used to produce new lotus cultivars. N. ‘Raining Love’ won first prize in the competition of the New Lotus Cultivars at the 21st National Lotus Exhibition, 2007.
